		<description>I can see you point with regards to this being male-centric.  If this wasn&#039;t already a pseudo-tradition among the actual players and was just a marketing angle, I&#039;d be more concerned about the potential sexism.

Also, I have seen women participate in creative manners.  Take a look at http://www.beardathon.com/flyers/reiler/profile.aspx - they may not be real beards, but they found a way to show their support and participate.</description>

		<description>Well it is a great idea.  The Beard is Back is the playoff slogan for the Red Wings.  I personally think it is really cheesy and I thought they could have come up with something better.  

From a female stand point. This beardathon is useless to me and I am one of their biggest fans.  It is a bit sexist.  Just because a woman can&#039;t participate.

I think they could have come up with something better.  I agree this is great from a semi interactive stand point though.  Just forgets half of their demographic of fans who actualy care.</description>
